Coastguard and Lifeboat Join Police in Folkestone Welfare Search
Emergency crews sprang into action on Sunday after a relative feared for a man’s safety at Sunny Sands, Folkestone. Kent Police called in two Coastguard Search and Rescue teams from Dover and Folkestone, plus Dover’s all-weather lifeboat, to help with a shoreline search.
Shoreline and Pier Thoroughly Searched
The Coastguard combed through the rocky bay, while the lifeboat crew tackled the pier, the Leas, and surrounding areas. The operation lasted around two hours as teams scoured the coastline for any sign of the man.
Man Found Safe; Search Called Off
The search was called off when officers confirmed the man was safe and well at home. Police had arrived shortly after 10am following a welfare concern report. Kent Police have been asked for further comment.
