Family Furious as Police Search for Missing Man Robert Gibson Starts Too Late
Robert Gibson’s family have blasted Hampshire Constabulary, branding their search efforts “too little, too late.” Officers are hunting along the Luccombe Road coastal path in Shanklin as they follow up on the 45-year-old’s disappearance.
Robert Vanishes After Leaving London Home
Robert Gibson was last seen at 3pm on Monday, June 13, 2016, leaving his Gipsy Hill home in Norwood, Greater London. Later that afternoon, he was spotted in the Co-operative store on Central Hill, Gipsy Hill.
Confirmed Sighting on Isle of Wight
- At 6.45pm, police received a confirmed report of Robert boarding a catamaran from Portsmouth to Ryde, Isle of Wight.
- He is then believed to have caught a train from Ryde Pier Head heading towards Lake and Shanklin.
Despite these confirmed sightings, Robert’s family accuse the police of dragging their feet. “They waited too long to start searching. It feels like they didn’t care enough,” a relative said.
