Firefighters Rush to Basement Blaze
The London Fire Brigade raced to R Dunn & Sons, a staircase and timber firm in Bexleyheath, after smoke was spotted billowing from the basement near Barnehurst Rail Station.
Just before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, two fire crews were dispatched following reports from workers of a smoky basement. Staff and customers were swiftly evacuated, staying safe as firefighters tackled the flames.
Swift Action Puts Out Minor Fire
Firefighters, dressed in breathing apparatus, used a hose reel to douse the small blaze. Thanks to their quick response, the fire was brought under control with no injuries reported.
Cause of Fire Still Unknown
Authorities are currently investigating what sparked the smoke and flames. The London Fire Brigade has been asked for further details but has yet to comment.
