Blazing Woodland Fire Hits Isle of Wight

Fire crews from Newport and Ryde rushed to tackle a woodland blaze in Wootton, Isle of Wight, on Thursday afternoon. Two fire engines and a water carrier arrived at Brocks Copse Road just after 1pm.

Crews Battle Flames in Remote Woodland

The fire broke out in a roughly 20m by 20m patch of woodland. Firefighters deployed two hose reels to douse the flames in the tricky, isolated spot.

Water Carrier Sent to Support Due to Remote Location

Because of water supply problems caused by the remote site, a water carrier was dispatched to aid the crews on the ground.
