Isle of Wight Distillery Unveils Stunning New Mermaid Gin Bottle

Eye-Catching Design Dives Into Sustainability

The Isle of Wight Distillery has launched its striking new Mermaid Gin bottle, and it’s making waves. After a year-long redesign led by founders Xavier Baker and Conrad Gauntlett, the bottle shines with a bold, sculpted shape inspired by the sea and mermaids. But it’s not just about looks—the bottle is 100% plastic-free, made entirely from sustainable, recyclable materials.

Refill Scheme Promises Eco & Wallet Perks

The eco-friendly effort doesn’t stop at the bottle. The Distillery plans to pilot a refill scheme soon, letting Isle of Wight customers bring their bottles back for refills on site. This approach aims to slash waste and save money, proving you can be green and savvy.

Founders Praise Local Support and Future Plans

“We want to thank Islanders and local businesses for their incredible support over the years,” said co-director Conrad Gauntlett, owner of The Mermaid Bar and the Wishing Well. “The response to our spirits, especially Mermaid 1, has been overwhelming. We hope fans love the new bottle as much as we do.”

Co-director Xavier Baker added, “We worked hard to capture the Island’s essence—its sea, mermaids, and marine environment—while putting sustainability front and centre. It’s exciting as Mermaid Gin gains recognition beyond the Island. We hope locals are just as proud as we are.”

The Same Great Gin, Fresh New Look

Despite the bold new design, Mermaid Gin stays true to its roots. It’s still hand-crafted in small batches at the Isle of Wight Distillery using ten ethically sourced botanicals. Highlights include rock samphire foraged from Island cliffs, Boadicea hops from Ventnor Botanic Garden, and locally grown elderflower.

Other Isle of Wight spirits—Mermaid Vodka, HMS Victory Rum, and HMS Victory Gin—will keep their classic Nocturne bottles for now.
