Emergency crews raced to St Peter’s Road, Croydon after reports of a serious flat fire late Friday night (May 16).

Firefighters Rescue Occupant from Blaze

The London Fire Brigade arrived just before midnight. Firefighters found “persons reported” inside and quickly rescued one occupant, guiding them to safety.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service treated the individual at the scene for smoke inhalation. The victim’s condition is currently unknown but is not believed to be serious.

Blaze Under Control as Investigation Begins

Fire crews contained the fire swiftly and continue with post-incident checks and safety assessments. A formal fire investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the blaze in the residential flat.

A source confirmed that local fire stations responded promptly and managed to bring the situation under control. Officials said further updates from the London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service are expected soon.
