Emergency Services Rush to East London Water Rescue

Police, fire crews, ambulance, and rescue teams were scrambled to Limehouse Basin near Canning Town just before midnight on Sunday, December 4th. Reports came in that someone had jumped into the water, triggering a full-scale emergency response.

Massive Search Underway in the Dead of Night

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) deployed two fire engines, their specialist search and rescue unit (FRU) with a boat, and a rescue boat called Fire One. Meanwhile, Met Police officers and RNLI crews joined the hunt, scouring the water and canal banks.

High-Tech Helicopter Joins the Hunt

The National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter was also called in, using its thermal imaging (FLIR) and bright NightSun spotlight to comb the dark waters from above.
