Shock Horror at Mountbatten Centre

A man has tragically died after being electrocuted at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth earlier this evening. The 35-year-old suffered a severe electric shock on the football pitch and was knocked unconscious.

Emergency Response and Investigation Underway

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed they were called to the scene around 6.30pm following reports of the incident. The victim was rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital but sadly later died.

Police were alerted by a member of the public and attended immediately. The area remains cordoned off as safety teams from power company SSE work to make the site secure.

A spokeswoman for SCA said: “We received reports of a man suffering an electric shock. Emergency services acted swiftly, but the injuries were fatal.”
