Newhaven Coastguard rushed to a worried scene on Wednesday after ordinance was spotted on a dredger at Newhaven Port.
Bomb Squad Called In
The area was quickly sealed off, with a safety cordon thrown up to keep the public clear. The Army Bomb Disposal Team arrived shortly after.
Device Safely Blown Up
The experts safely removed and detonated the device, ensuring everyone in the area was out of harm’s way. No injuries reported.
