Car Overturns on Busy Birmingham Road, Chaos in Cotteridge
A major Birmingham road was partially shut this afternoon after a dramatic crash saw a car flip onto its roof in Cotteridge. The incident sparked chaos, blocking both sides of Pershore Road near the Grant Arms pub.
Emergency Services Rush to the Scene
At around 2.10pm on Saturday, a blue Mini smashed into a parked car before overturning and landing upside down. Photos and videos from the scene showed the vehicle lying on its roof, surrounded by police, ambulance, and fire crews.
West Midlands Fire Service secured the Mini and managed to get it back on its wheels. Police roped off the area, causing severe traffic gridlock as both carriageways were blocked.
A man in his 50s, believed to be the Mini’s driver, was rushed to hospital. His injuries are currently being assessed, according to West Midlands Police.

Traffic Nightmare and Road Reopening
The crash sparked heavy delays in both directions, with Google Maps showing severe congestion stretching across the area. Thankfully, by late afternoon, traffic began to ease and normal flow was restored.
