Missing Mum Lisa Brown: Mystery Deepens as Ex-Boyfriend On The Run
Scottish-born Lisa Brown vanished without a trace on Wednesday, 4 November 2015. She was 32 and living in Guadiaro, San Roque, Spain, with her eight-year-old son.
Four days later, alarm bells rang when Lisa failed to pick up her son from school. Police forced entry into her apartment and found signs of a violent struggle.
Suspect Flees, Caught, Then Let Loose
Lisa’s ex, Simon Corner (aka Dean Woods), a luxury yacht dealer, quickly became a prime suspect. After being questioned, he fled Spain but was nabbed in Denmark in April 2016 and sent back.
Though initially jailed, Woods was released. He then broke bail conditions later that year, sparking a European Arrest Warrant. He was arrested at Heathrow Airport soon after.
Case Reopened—and Then Shut Again
Lisa’s family expected Woods to face trial for her disappearance. But shockingly, the charges were dropped days later due to “insufficient evidence.”
In October 2018, hope flickered when the case was reopened. Sadly, lawyers later confirmed Woods would not be prosecuted over Lisa’s vanishing.
Woods’ New Trouble & Last Seen On Day Release
Woods wasn’t out of trouble for long. He was sentenced to 12 years for running a €10 million drugs ring.
Recently, Woods vanished again after failing to return from day release at an open prison on 19 November. He’s described as 5ft 11in, medium build, brown hair and eyes, with a liverpool/" title="Liverpool" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Liverpool accent.
Lisa’s mum Helen blasted the system: “What are they doing giving him day release when he was sentenced to 12 years two years ago? An open prison where he can come and go but just didn’t return. It’s an absolute joke of a justice system.”
“With his record of multiple names, passports, and help escaping, he should never have been let out.”
