Nurses in England Set for 48-Hour Non-Stop Strike Amid Pay Deadlock

RCN Members Gear Up for Massive Walkout

After months of UK government silence, Royal College of Nursing (RCN) members in England are ready to strike non-stop for 48 hours this March. There will be no wide-ranging exemptions, and striking nurses will receive increased strike benefits.

Strikes Hit 128 NHS Employers as PM Snubs Pay Talks

The industrial action will hit 128 NHS trusts across England while Prime Minister pushes ahead without addressing nurses’ pay demands. Nursing staff are feeling ignored and left behind in this ongoing pay dispute.

Two Full Days of Action: When and How

  • The strike kicks off at the start of the morning shift on Wednesday 1 March and runs continuously until Friday 3 March.
  • For 24-hour services, action begins with the local day shift on 1 March and lasts until the same time on 3 March.
  • Non 24-hour services will strike from 6am on 1 March through 6am on 3 March.
  • All eligible RCN members in England are called to withdraw their labour during this period.

As calls for talks go unanswered, nurses prepare to turn up the heat on the government in the biggest show of strike solidarity yet.
