Blaze Breaks Out on Dericote Road

A terrifying fire tore through a terraced house on Dericote Road, Hackney, late Wednesday night, causing serious damage to the first floor. Firefighters rushed to the scene after the London Fire Brigade received a call at 9.08pm.

Heroic Rescue as Flames Engulf Home

Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus battled the blaze and rescued two men from the first floor via an internal staircase. One man was treated at the scene by ambulance crews. The other was rushed to hospital but sadly died.

Firefighters Contain Blaze Quickly

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Bethnal Green, Homerton, and Shoreditch responded, bringing the fire under control by 9.56pm. The cause of the fire is under investigation, though it’s not believed to be suspicious.
