Massive Delays at Dartford Crossing After Van Blaze
Commuters at the Dartford Crossing faced hellish delays of up to 90 minutes today following a van fire in the East Bore Tunnel on the A282 northbound. The blaze sparked chaos across the M25 anti-clockwise and A282 routes, grinding traffic to a halt.
East Bore Tunnel Shut, West Bore Briefly Closed
The East Bore Tunnel was shut immediately after the fire broke out, triggering a huge traffic nightmare. The West Bore Tunnel was also closed for a short time but has since reopened. Firefighters battled the flames and have now extinguished the blaze.
Queues Stretch for 7 Miles – Prepare for Delays
Safety checks are ongoing inside the East Bore Tunnel before it can reopen. Meanwhile, National Highways Traffic Officers and emergency teams remain on-site to manage the situation.
Drivers face up to a 7-mile tailback approaching the tunnels. Commuters are urged to allow extra travel time and explore alternative routes where possible to dodge the gridlock.
