Six Fire Engines Rush to Massive Blaze at Berwick Industrial Site
Early on Saturday, February 24, a fierce fire broke out at an industrial building on Alfriston Road, Berwick. The East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were scrambled at 3.06am after reports of roaring flames.

By 3.57am, six fire engines, a Command Support Unit, and officers were on scene. Fire crews geared up with breathing apparatus and unleashed powerful main jets and foam jets to wrestle the blaze into submission.
Nearby residents were urged to keep windows and doors shut to avoid smoke inhalation. Motorists were warned to steer clear as emergency services cordoned off the area amid chaos.
Blaze Still Burning at Dawn – Road Reopens with Caution
At 4.57am, firefighters continued the uphill battle using two main jets, a hosereel jet, and foam. The fire was far from defeated as daylight broke, but crews held the line.
Authorities have since reopened the roads but urge everyone to remain cautious near the site.
