British holidaymakers bound for Spain face chaos as cabin crew strike looms. The Spanish union Unión Sindical Obrera (USO) has confirmed a three-day walkout starting Tuesday, 25 June 2025.
Spanish Airport Strike to Ground Flights
The strike will involve 657 cabin crew and 21 aircraft across major Spanish airports including Barcelona, Alicante, Malaga, and Majorca. The dispute centres on pay rises and working conditions.
Travel disruption will hit on 25, 26, and 27 June, with thousands of UK travellers likely to face delays, cancellations, and long queues as planes remain grounded.
Italy and Finland Also Brace for Travel Turmoil
Adding to the chaos, Italy is set for a 24-hour national transport strike from 9pm on 19 June to 9pm on 20 June. Airports, trains, and public transport will be hit, with baggage handlers and ground staff joining the action amidst protests over pay and working hours.
Meanwhile, Finland’s aviation union strike has already cancelled hundreds of flights, affecting 6,000 Finnair passengers. More strikes are expected on 19 June, threatening further disruption across Europe.
