Lorry Overturns and Car Crashes on A27 Near Chichester
Police rushed to the A27 near Chichester at 5.40am on Friday, 9 October, after a lorry overturned and was hit by a car.
Driver Injuries Reported
- The lorry driver, a 62-year-old man, was seriously injured and taken to hospital. Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
- The car driver, a 50-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.
Road Closure Causes Major Disruption
The A27 is closed in both directions from Chichester, with diversions in place. The closure is expected to last for several hours, possibly all day. Drivers are urged to plan their journeys accordingly.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Anyone who saw the crash is urged to contact police online or call 101, quoting Operation Milldown. Hampshire police confirmed the collision is causing significant delays along the route.
