M25 Chaos: Major Diversions in Place for Northbound and Southbound Traffic
Northbound Drivers Take Note
Motorists heading northbound (anti-clockwise) on the M25 are being rerouted. Follow the hollow black square symbol to avoid closures. From M25 Junction 2, travel back to Junction 1b. Then take the A296 towards Bean and Bluewater, switch onto the B255 towards Greenhithe, then the A206 towards dartford/" title="Dartford" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Dartford. Finally, rejoin the A282/M25 at Junction 1a.
Southbound Route Change
For southbound (clockwise) travellers, follow the hollow black triangle symbol. Take the same roads as the northbound detour but in reverse. Use the A2 to rejoin the M25 at Junction 2.
Expect Traffic Hell and Delays
Prepare for heavy congestion on the M25 approaches and along diversion routes. Extra journey times are almost certain, so plan ahead and allow plenty of extra time.
