M2 in Kent SHUT After Fiery Crash Involving Three Cars

The M2 is closed after a serious collision sparked a blaze involving three vehicles. The crash happened between junction 6 (Faversham/Ashford) and junction 7 (Canterbury).

Kent Fire and Rescue Service teamed up with other emergency crews to battle the fire. Three fire engines and a bulk water carrier are on site. Meanwhile, SECAmb paramedics are checking three casualties from the smash.

Traffic Chaos and Delays

The motorway is shut in both directions, causing chaos on the roads. Drivers face over 40-minute delays eastbound from junction 5 to junction 7. Traffic has now been allowed to flow on the opposite carriageway in all lanes, but congestion continues.
