Firefighters Hospitalised After Firework Thrown Into Southampton Station
Chaos in Southampton last night as a lit firework was hurled through the window of a local fire station. Two brave firefighters were injured and rushed to hospital. Thankfully, both have since been released and are now recovering with support.
Police Launch Probe Into Reckless Attack
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service’s Assistant Director of Operations, Dan Tasker, slammed the “deeply unpleasant incident.” He warned, “The consequences could have been much worse. We’re thankful no one was seriously hurt.”
Tasker added, “Our firefighters protect communities every day. Attacks like this will never be tolerated and always reported to police.”
Bonfire Night Warning: Fireworks Are Dangerous
With Bonfire Night approaching, Tasker made a clear plea: “Fireworks are explosives and can cause real harm. Please act responsibly and keep an eye on what your kids are doing.”
“If you witness reckless firework behaviour, report it immediately to the police.”
