Israel Launches Over 500 Airstrikes on Gaza Overnight

Israel’s air force has blitzed Gaza with more than 500 airstrikes overnight, pounding Hamas and Islamic Jihad targets. The relentless raids hit seven Hamas command centres, an Islamic Jihad base, and several multi-storey buildings, including the home of a top Hamas official.

Officials estimate at least 400 militants from Hamas and Islamic Jihad have been killed in the aerial onslaught. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of Israeli reservists have been mobilised, bracing for a massive ground assault.

Four Waves of Fury: Israeli Air Force Details Assault

The strikes came in four waves, each involving 50 to 60 fighter jets swooping in on key locations across Gaza. Since the conflict began, Israel claims to have destroyed roughly 1,200 targets in the area.

On the ground, Israeli forces are locked in battles with Hamas gunmen at multiple points outside Gaza. Lt. Col. Richard Hecht admitted it’s taking longer than expected to regain full security control.

Volunteers searching for victims at the Supernova music festival site, where at least 260 were killed, have had to halt due to Palestinian militant attacks.

The Thai foreign ministry revealed that 12 Thai nationals have been killed, 11 kidnapped, and eight wounded amid the conflict. Around 30,000 Thais live in Israel, including 5,000 in Gaza.
