Schoolboy suffers serious injury in road traffic collision in Southampton

Police are appealing for witnesses after a schoolboy  suffered serious injuries in a road traffic collision.

Officers were called to Acacia Road, in Merryoak, at approximately 5.45pm on Wednesday February 24, to reports of a collision involving a seven-year-old boy and a car. The boy had been playing with another boy on a small green area shortly before the collision with a black Vauxhall Zafira. The boy was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries, including a broken leg. He remains in hospital. Police Constable Brendan Moseley said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident or who may have seen the car or the children prior to what happened. “The driver of the Vauxhall stopped at the scene and is helping us with our enquiries.” Anyone with information is asked to call PC Moseley on 101, quoting 44160079457, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
