M3 Westbound SHUT after crash between J4A and J5 near Hook and Minley

The M3 westbound is CLOSED from Junction 4A to Junction 5 following a nasty collision tonight. Police have also taped off the Motorway Service link bridge between the east and westbound service areas, shutting it down completely.

Service Area and Lanes Shut

The westbound service area at M3 is now closed to the public. Hampshire Road Policing units and crash investigators are at the scene, focused on a silver hatchback with heavy front-end and windscreen damage.

All three westbound lanes are CLOSED while police deal with the aftermath. A diversion is now in place for stranded drivers.

Follow the Diversion or Face Delays

  • Drivers must follow the solid black triangle diversion signs.
  • Route: A327 Northbound → A30 Eastbound → B3349 Southbound
  • Exit M3 at Junction 4A and rejoin at Junction 5.

The road isn’t expected to reopen until at least 4:30am Friday morning, so expect lengthy delays if you’re heading this way.
