Mercedes A-Class Goes Up in Flames in Fratton

Hampshire Fire and Rescue raced to a blazing car in Fratton this morning. At around 10am on March 23, a Mercedes A-Class was spotted engulfed in flames on Fratton Road, Portsmouth.

Electrical Fault Blamed for Fiery Inferno

The fire service suspects an electrical fault sparked the blaze, which left the car severely damaged. One fire engine from Southsea fire station responded swiftly to the scene.

Quick Action by Firefighters Saves the Day

  • Southsea firefighters used a hose reel and two breathing apparatus sets
  • Fire extinguished by 10:20am, with damping down continuing

Thanks to their rapid response, the flames were swiftly controlled, preventing any injuries. The cause remains under investigation.
