Northampton Hospital Lockdown After Mystery Liquid Sparks Panic

Northampton General Hospital’s A&E was plunged into chaos this morning (Friday 3 November) after an unknown liquid was found in a man’s car parked outside.

Staff and patients were swiftly evacuated from the Accident and Emergency department. Emergency crews from Northamptonshire Police and the fire service rushed to the scene, sealing off the area and turning away new arrivals.

Nearby Nursery Told to Lock Down

A nearby nursery was told to keep children indoors as the emergency services tackled the suspicious situation. A hospital spokesperson said: “Our main entrance and emergency department entrance are closed while the fire and rescue service deal with the vehicle.”

Visitors and patients were urged to use alternative entrances. Ambulance services are working with neighbouring hospitals to reroute emergency admissions, with some but not all ambulance cases diverted.

Mysterious Assault Linked to Suspicious Vehicle

Northamptonshire Police revealed the incident connects to an assault earlier today in Ecton Brook. The victim, sitting in his car, was sprayed with an unknown substance, causing irritation to his nose. He went straight to Northampton General for treatment.

As a precaution, police cordoned off the vehicle in the hospital car park while investigations continue. The hospital main entrance remains shut with people advised to use other access points.

Officials urge patience and caution as they handle this alarming incident.
