Cold-Blooded Thief Jailed for Targeting Gay Men in Shocking Robbery Spree
Reda Zahri, 22, from Haverstock Road, NW5, has been handed an 11-and-a-half-year prison sentence at Southwark Crown Court. The young crook used chilling tactics to rob vulnerable men, leaving a trail of terrified victims.
Deceptive Charm Used to Rob Victims
Zahri preyed on gay men, gaining their trust before robbing them blind. His crimes included:
- Three counts of burglary
- One count of false imprisonment
- One count of attempted robbery
Often, Zahri engaged in sexual activity to distract his victims while stealing their valuables—sometimes without them even realising. In one daring heist, he made off with over £25,000, hauling the loot away in a suitcase.
How Police Nabbed the Cunning Criminal
Detectives zeroed in on Zahri after he robbed a man he met in Camden. The victim was quick-witted, tracking down Zahri’s Instagram handle and tipping off the police. This led to his arrest on May 12, 2022.
Zahri tried to dodge punishment by claiming to be just 17, hoping to exploit his juvenile status. But police weren’t fooled—his links to Germany and detailed investigation exposed the lie.
Police Urge More Victims to Come Forward
Officers believe Zahri may have ransacked many more victims who have been too scared to report the crimes. “We will investigate anyone and everyone who has fallen foul of his tactics,” police said.
“I urge anyone with information to please contact us so we can thoroughly investigate all allegations.”
