Blazing Inferno Hits Totland in West Wight

Firefighters raced to a massive blaze in Totland, West Wight, Isle of Wight, on Tuesday evening. Just after 6pm, a passer-by spotted thick black smoke billowing on Cliff Road and alerted the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.

Rapid Response from Freshwater Fire Crew

Two fire engines from Freshwater and a Water Carrier were instantly dispatched, along with a local officer. The crews tackled the flames with a high-powered jet and hose reel, working quickly to control the fire.

Heavy Machinery Joins the Fight

An earth mover was brought in to help with damping down and turning over burning debris, ensuring the fire was fully extinguished.

No injuries have been reported, and investigations into the fire’s cause are underway.
