Two Teens Killed in Horrific Crash on A30 Near Hook
Tragedy struck early this morning on the busy A30 near Hook, as two 18-year-old teenagers lost their lives in a fatal crash. Police from the Whitchurch-based Roads Policing Unit were called to the scene outside the Volkswagen dealership, just past The Hatch pub, after a white Fiat 500 smashed into trees on the eastbound carriageway.
Road Closed After Early Morning Horror
The collision happened before 5am, forcing the closure of the A30 for hours while emergency crews and specialist investigators comb the scene. Diversions are in place, causing major delays for morning commuters.
Police Appeal for Dashcam Footage and Witnesses
Hampshire Police revealed both the driver and passenger, teenagers aged 18, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their families are being supported by specialist officers.
Sgt Andy Noble said: “We are working hard to establish exactly what happened to cause this collision. At this stage, we do not know what time the collision happened, so we would like to hear from anyone who drove eastbound along that road between 9:50pm last night and 5am this morning. We particularly want to speak to anyone who has dashcam footage as it could help us narrow down the time of the incident.”
He added: “If you saw a white Fiat 500 in the area during those hours, please get in touch.”
