South London Fugitive Nabbed in Barcelona

Spanish police struck today, Friday 4 May, arresting Jamie Acourt, 41, in Barcelona. The south Londoner was seized on a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) issued by the Metropolitan Police Service. Armed officers intercepted Acourt as he left the iconic Sagrada Familia Gym this afternoon, confirmed the National Crime Agency.

Wanted Drug Supplier Finally Caught

Acourt is wanted for his suspected role in large-scale drug supply. He is the 81st fugitive tracked down out of 96 named through Operation Captura – the high-profile partnership between the Met, Crimestoppers, and Spanish law enforcement.

Next Stop: Madrid Court

The 41-year-old will face a Madrid court early next week for an extradition hearing. The case ties back to an extensive 2016 probe by detectives from the Serious and Organised Crime Command.
