Blaze Erupts at South Bristol Sports Centre
A huge fire has broken out at the South Bristol Sports Centre in Hengrove, sending smoke billowing across the area. Around 40 firefighters from nine engines, plus two aerial ladders and command units, are battling the flames hard.
Massive Response to Roof and First Floor Fire
More than 25 emergency calls flooded in from worried locals reporting the blaze affecting the first floor and roof of the building. Fire crews are blasting water from hose reels and jets on the ground, while turntable ladders douse the fire from above.
Public Urged to Avoid Area
Officials warn residents and passers-by to steer clear of the scene, while those nearby are advised to keep windows and doors shut to stay safe from the smoke.
The situation remains ongoing as firefighters work to bring the inferno under control.
