Folkestone Sex Offender Jailed for 11 Years Over Child Rape
A vile sex offender from Folkestone has been locked up for 11 years after being found guilty of raping a child between 2008 and 2009.
Pervert Leslie Iles Caught and Convicted
Leslie Iles, 61, homeless at the time of his arrest, was nabbed by Kent Police in March 2017 after the victim bravely came forward. The trial took place at Canterbury Crown Court on 27 March 2018, where Iles was found guilty of rape and a sexual assault.
Justice Served After Victim’s Courage
Iles was sentenced on 9 May 2018, finally facing the full force of the law.
“I would like to thank the victim for being brave and coming forward with information that allows us to ensure people like Iles are sent to prison,” said Detective Inspector Rebecca Philpott.
“These offences are simply unthinkable and Iles will now serve time in prison for what he did. I hope this reassures anyone suffering from an unreported sexual offence that justice can be done and that it’s never too late to come forward.”
