Six Engines, 35 Firefighters Battle Blaze

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters were rushed to a fire on West End Lane, West Hampstead. Flames engulfed part of a second-floor flat and the building’s roof.

West End Lane Shut as Firefighters Tackle Blaze

Station Manager Lee Walker, speaking from the scene, said: “Crews worked hard to bring the fire under control.” He warned of heavy traffic as West End Lane remains closed.

Firefighters are expected to stay on site damping down well into the evening.

Fire Under Control Within Two Hours

The brigade was called at 3pm and the fire was declared under control by 4:47pm. Crews from West Hampstead, Kentish Town, and Soho stations joined the firefight.

Cause of Fire Under Investigation

The origin of the blaze is still being examined by investigators.
