Person struck by car in Newport

A person has been taken to hospital after being involved in a Collision with a blue island registered Seat this afternoon. Police from the joint armed response roads policing and Isle of Wight ambulance have attended the incident on the junction of Hurstake Road on the Newport industrial estate just after 2.30pm on Wednesday afternoon. The driver of the seat was unhurt but shaken. The person is understood to have been taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment. Police have move the vehicle involved into Premier Ford. The injuries of the person are not thought to be serious despite the person rolling over the bonnet of the Seat. Traffic is queuing as a result of the incident trying to access the dual carriageway.
