Firefighters Rush to Bonfire Blaze on Dry Isle of Wight Fields
Isle of Wight fire crews scrambled this evening to tackle what looked like a dangerous open fire. It was actually a bonfire, quickly brought under control with a hose reel jet.
Fields Dangerously Dry – One Spark Could Ignite Disaster
Firefighters warned locals to stay vigilant. “Our island’s fields are bone dry right now,” a spokesperson said. “Just one stray spark could set off a major fire.”
Residents are urged to think twice before lighting bonfires to prevent wildfires.
