Woman Dies in fatal collision in Malden
Officers investigating a road traffic collision in New Malden are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Police were called at 11.24pm by LAS on Monday, 13 August to reports of a collision at Coombe Road, New Malden. Officers, London Ambulance Service [LAS] and London’s Air Ambulance attended. At the scene a 21-year-old female pedestrian had been in collision with a vehicle. Despite the efforts of medics, the injured woman was pronounced dead at the scene at 12.16am. Her next of kin have been informed. The 27-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was taken to a south London police station for questioning and has since been released under investigation.
