Seven Men Charged Over ATM Theft Spree Across South East

Gang Accused of ATM Raids in Kent and Essex

Seven men have been charged over a series of alleged ATM thefts across the South East, targeting locations including two incidents in Kent. The suspects, all linked to addresses in Essex, face serious conspiracy charges. They include Walter Mitchell, 41; Shane Stanley, 36; Tommy Mitchell, 18; Levi Mitchell, 24; William Mitchell, 30; Walter Mitchell, 20, all from Harlow, and Scott McManus, 43, from Stanstead Abbotts.

Crackdown After Multiple ATM Thefts

The group has been hit with two counts of conspiracy to commit burglary and one count of conspiracy to steal vehicles. These offences relate to a spate of ATM thefts or attempted thefts, including incidents at McColl’s in West Kingsdown, Sevenoaks, on 23 April 2018, and the Co-op in Istead Rise, Gravesend, on 15 May 2018.

Police Action and Court Date Set

Following a series of warrant raids in Essex on 5 March, the seven men were remanded to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 7 March. The probe, led by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, also links the suspects to other ATM thefts across Essex, Hertfordshire, and Surrey.

Additionally, a 17-year-old and two 15-year-olds from Essex were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods, vehicle theft, and burglary. They have since been released pending further investigations.
