Charges follow after attack in Police officer

A man has been charged following allegations he pushed two police officers down a flight of steps in Tunbridge Wells. At around 4.30am on Thursday 28 March 2019 patrols attended a flat in St Johns Road, in connection with concerns for the welfare of a woman. The officers then responded to a disturbance at the address, during which a man is reported to have pushed an officer into a colleague causing them both to fall down a stairwell. The suspect is alleged to have also repeatedly kicked and punched police as attempts were made to restrain him. Three officers sustained injuries. Darbaz Kheder, aged 22, of St Johns Road, Tunbridge Wells was arrested and later charged with three counts of assaulting an emergency worker. He is bailed to appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates‘ Court on 7 May.
