Wightlink Chaos: Travellers Hit with 90-Minute Delays

Travellers using Wightlink ferries suffered major delays today as a mechanical fault halted operations at Fishbourne terminal. The Fishbourne to Portsmouth car ferry service is running up to 90 minutes late, causing frustration for drivers.

Ferries Held Up in the Solent

Both ferries in service have been affected. The Victoria of Wight is stuck in the Solent, unable to dock at Fishbourne due to a broken link span. A Wightlink spokesman confirmed: “There are delays of 75 minutes on the Fishbourne-Portsmouth route due to a mechanical issue with an essential piece of equipment.”

Passengers Urged to Check In on Time

Despite the chaos, Wightlink is telling customers to check in as normal and brace for delays. Travellers are advised to plan accordingly and expect prolonged waits at the terminal.
