Army of Police and Vans in Drugs shakedown in Ryde

An army of Police officers descended on to Amherst Place in Ryde this morning Part of Hampshire Constabulary crack down on the supply of drugs. Police put the housing estate on lockdown whilst they carried out a raid on two property for drugs. Armed response officers and a dog unit joined other officers in the pre-planned raid arriving around 9am on Friday morning. Officers executed the pre-planned warrants at 2 properties in the cul-de-sac. The raids come days after drugs raids were carried out in Shanklin sending out a clear message that drug dealing will not be tolerated on the Isle of Wight. Hampshire Constabulary have yet to say if they have made any arrests in respect of the raids Anyone with information relating to drug-related harm or possible linked activity should contact the Ryde Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101.
