Teen Threatened with Gun on Milton Keynes Footbridge
Police are hunting witnesses after three teenagers were threatened with what looked like a firearm in Milton Keynes. The shocking incident took place at 7.25pm on Thursday, 16 May, on the footbridge over Childs Way, linking the Milton Keynes Xscape car park and Pencarrow Place in Fishermead.
Armed Teen Scares Trio, Then Fires Weapon
Two girls and a boy were crossing the footbridge when a young male, aged between 16 and 20, suddenly appeared. He pulled a pistol-like weapon from his waistband and raised it. Terrified, the teenagers fled the scene, but heard a sound resembling a gunshot as they ran.
The suspect is described as a white teen about 5ft 6ins tall, with dirty blond hair and an average build. He was wearing a light grey hoodie and matching bottoms. Thankfully, none of the teens were hurt during the scare.
Police Appeal for Crucial Witnesses
“I am appealing for anybody who witnessed this incident to come forward,” said Detective Constable Scott Dempsey of Milton Keynes CID. “We are particularly keen to speak to a woman caught on CCTV who seemed to intervene and speak to the offender. She may hold vital information.”
Detective Dempsey added there is no indication of any wider threat. He suspects the weapon was likely a starter pistol or something similar, but the investigation is ongoing.
