Woman Fights Off Sexual Assault Attempt in Horsham
A 26-year-old woman bravely fought off a man who tried to sexually assault her on Harwood Road, Horsham, early Saturday morning.
Terrifying Attack on Harwood Road
At around 8.15am on 25 May, the woman was walking west along Harwood Road when she noticed a man following her near the roundabout junction with Comptons Lane. As she continued, the attacker grabbed her, pushed her against a fence, and attempted to assault her.
Victim Fights Back and Escapes
Showing quick thinking and courage, the woman kneed the man and struck his face, managing to break free and run away. The man did not pursue her and instead fled back the way he came.
Police Description and Appeal for Witnesses
- Suspect: White male, around 20, skinny and tall
- Clothing: Tracksuit with dark grey or black trainers
PC Neil Twelves said, “The victim was very shaken by the incident but was not physically hurt. This is a very unusual incident for the area, and there is no pattern of any similar recent crimes.”
He added, “If anyone was in the area that morning and saw anything or has any information, please contact us online or call 101, quoting serial 339 of 25/05.”
