Man Assaulted in Early Morning Attack

Police were called to a disturbance at a Rose Hill property at 2.15am on Thursday, 1 November 2018. Officers found a man in his early 20s, who has learning difficulties, brutally assaulted.

Three Men Arrested for Sickening Assault

The victim had been punched, kicked repeatedly in the face, had cigarettes stubbed out on him, and was hit with a baton. Three men present at the scene were quickly arrested.

Perpetrators Face Justice at Derby Crown Court

  • Dean Barber, 37, of Addison Road, Allenton, was jailed for 22 months for assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
  • Michael Hames, 27, of Ashe Place, Derby, and Paul Bellfield, 25, of London Road, Derby, each received 15-month sentences for the same offence.

The sentencing took place on Friday, 26 February, bringing relief to the victim and the local community.
