Two Charged with Terror offences following Luton Arrest

The 28-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were arrested following a vehicle stop in Luton on Wednesday, 3 July, as part of an investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command. On Tuesday, 16 July, at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, Mohiussunnath Chowdhury, 28 of Luton appeared charged with one count of preparation of acts of terrorism, contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006; one count of dissemination of a terrorist publication, contrary to section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006; and one count of possession of terrorist information, contrary to section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000. Sneha Chowdhury, 25 of Luton appeared charged with two counts of failing to disclose information regarding terrorist activity, contrary to section 38B of the Terrorism Act 2000. Both appeared today, Monday, 29 July, at the Old Bailey. Mohiussunnath Chowdhury was remanded in custody and Sneha Chowdhury was re-bailed, pending pre-trial hearing on 18 November. A provisional trial date of Monday, 6 January, 2020 was set.
