Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Whitechapel have charged a third man with murder

Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Whitechapel have charged a third man with murder. Mohamed Moshaer Ali, 27 of Western Avenue, Dagenham has been charged with the murder of Iron Miah, aged 40. Ali was charged on Sunday, 8 December and appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 9 December. He was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 11 December. Police were called on Tuesday, 19 November to Nelson Street, E1, after  Iron Miah, was found collapsed with a head injury. Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended, and Mr Miah was taken to hospital. He died on Thursday, 21 November and his family are being supported by specialist officers. A post-mortem examination held on Monday, 25 November determined the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head. An investigation by homicide detectives from the Specialist Crime Command is underway. Two men have previously been charged with murder. Hassan Mohammed, 31 (16.08.88), of Cumberland Road, Portsmouth, was arrested on Sunday, 24 November. He was charged with murder on Wednesday, 27 November and remanded to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court the same day. Nanu Miah, 20 (24.04.99), of Brandon Street, Southwark was arrested on Thursday, 28 November and charged with murder the following day. He was remanded to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 30 November. Both men have been remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on 14 February 2020. On Sunday, 24 November, a 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has been released on bail until a date in late December. On Monday, 25 November, a 40-year-old woman  was arrested on suspicion of murder. She has been released on bail until a date in mid-December.
