Firefighters from Hampshire and Surrey are battling a fierce fire at a car wash on Aldershot’s High Street. Six fire engines and two aerial ladders from Rushmoor, Fleet, Basingstoke, and Farnham are on the scene working through the early hours of Wednesday to stop the flames from spreading.
Residents Urged to Steer Clear
Emergency crews are using jets and hose reels to douse the blaze, but locals are advised to avoid the area as the situation unfolds. Police have slammed the brakes on traffic, setting up multiple road closures to keep people safe.
Major Transport Disruptions Hit Aldershot
The fire has sparked chaos for public transport. Stagecoach bus routes 1Gold, 4, 5, 7, 17, 18, and 19 can no longer serve Aldershot High Street due to the closures.
- Road Closures: A323 Wellington Avenue shut in both directions between the Naafi roundabout and Princes Way.
- Other closures: Roads around the affected area are also blocked off as firefighters tackle the blaze.
