Man’s Mysterious Death in Croydon Sparks Police Appeal

Detectives are hunting for witnesses after a 77-year-old man died from unexplained injuries in Croydon. Officers were called just after 7.30pm on Monday, 13 January, when the man was found collapsed on Windmill Road suffering serious injuries.

The victim was rushed to a south London hospital but sadly passed away on Saturday, 18 January. His family have been informed, and a special post-mortem is set to determine the cause of death.

Broken Arm and Leg – What Happened?

Detective Sergeant Steve Andrews from the Met’s South Area Command Unit said: “We are treating this death as unexplained. Despite speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV, we have yet to establish how the man sustained a broken arm and leg.”

He added the investigation is considering all possibilities, including a collision, but no clear answers have emerged.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was near Windmill Road around 7.30pm on 13 January. Witnesses or anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting Cad 6441/13Jan.
