Two Men Charged After Armed Burglary of 80-Year-Old’s Home in Canterbury
Two men have been charged following a terrifying aggravated burglary at an elderly man’s home in Canterbury.
Armed Intruders Force Elderly Victim to Withdraw Cash
On the morning of Wednesday 26 February 2020, Kent Police were called to a property on Sturry Road after reports of armed men breaking in.
The burglars stole items from the house before forcing the victim, a man in his 80s, to withdraw money at a nearby Post Office.
Suspects Remanded Ahead of Crown Court Hearing
Peter Savage, 40, from New Town Street, Canterbury, and 37-year-old Daniel Hake, who has no fixed address, were arrested and charged with kidnap and aggravated burglary.
Both appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 11 March and were remanded in custody. They are due back at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 13 April.
