Attack Sparks Hunt for Witnesses

British Transport Police are on the lookout for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted at Ifield railway station. The horrific incident happened just after 8pm on Tuesday, March 11, as the victim was leaving the station.

On the footbridge, a man suddenly grabbed and sexually assaulted her. Thankfully, two members of the public rushed in to help the woman escape the terrifying attack.

Suspect Arrested and Released on Bail

Police quickly arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of sexual assault by touching. He has since been released on bail while the investigation continues.

Police Plead for Eyewitnesses and Good Samaritans

Investigators want to speak with anyone who saw the assault or noticed the suspect before or after the incident. The two brave individuals who stepped in to help are urged to come forward to assist the inquiry.
