Gun, Drugs & Five Arrested in Margate Raid
Five suspects have been charged after a dramatic early-morning police raid uncovered a sawn-off shotgun alongside heroin, cocaine, and cannabis at a Margate home.
3am Strike in Surrey Road
Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate teams swooped on a property on Surrey Road at around 3am on Friday, 1 May 2020. The pre-planned warrant led to the arrest of five people.
Drugs and Weapons Charges
The Crown Prosecution Service swiftly authorized charges on Saturday, 2 May. All five face serious allegations including being involved in the supply of heroin, cocaine, and cannabis, as well as possessing criminal property.
- Ashley Cairns, 32, Surrey Road
- William Cairns, 65, Surrey Road
- Phillip Gibson, 19, Surrey Road – also charged with possessing a prohibited weapon
- Jordan Bourton, 20, Surrey Road
- A 17-year-old Margate boy – also charged with possessing a prohibited weapon
Next Steps in Court
All five have been remanded in custody. They are due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 4 May.
