Serious Stabbing Shakes Thorpe Park
Police are hunting for answers after a brutal assault at Thorpe Park in Chertsey left a man seriously wounded.
Altercation Turns Violent Near Park Exit
The shocking attack unfolded just before 4:55pm on Saturday, 18 July, close to the exit on Staines Road. Two groups clashed on a bridge inside the park, ending with one man in his twenties slashed in the stomach. He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
Thankfully, no one else was hurt in the chaos.
Two Arrested in Attempted Murder Probe
Officers swooped on the scene, arresting two men in their twenties on suspicion of attempted murder. Both remain in custody while investigations continue.
Detective Inspector Andy Greaves said: “I’m keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who has video footage of this assault. The two groups were close to the exit inside the park on the bridge when the assault took place.
“We’re still trying to establish what happened, but at this time it is not being treated as terrorism-related.
“Enquiries are ongoing to locate everyone involved. Officers will remain in the area this evening. I’d like to thank Thorpe Park for their cooperation.”
